Join us for an evening with Nebraska native Nick Leishman of Picking Lines Wines! This winery makes our September Wedge Club wine, and you can get a sneak pick of that and his other wines!
Nick Leishman graduated from High School in Blair, Nebraska and attended Concordia University in Seward, playing golf and soccer while working on a science degree.
Nick’s family has been in the cattle industry in Nebraska for many generations and is still producing premium Limousin and Wagyu. Just like our cattle, the Picking Lines Wines carries our family brand, the Quarter circle Spear.
While working in Napa in the cellar Nick picked up a nickname while sharing family beef during lunches while the harvest was in full swing; “Loco Vaquero” or crazy cowboy.
Nick first found this Petite Sirah vineyard by chance and jumped at the chance to snag a small amount. Which is a pretty wild thing to do during harvest. Most premium fruit is contracted well before harvest.
We love to find wines with local connections, and the Picking Lines wines are perfect for Nebraskans: rich, juicy, and pair perfectly with a nice steak. We can’t wait for you to try their wines! We’ll be tasting his wines from Contra Costa County, east of San Francisco and on the Mount Diablo eastern foothills.
