Australian Marinated Feta and Shiraz

Richard Tarlton was favourite among jesters to Queen Elizabeth I. Tarlton was the first to achieve national celebrity as a comedian and enjoyed a successful career in theatre as a leading member of the Queen’s Players. As a writer, he was the author of popular ballads and plays. ‘Jester’ celebrates the era where boredom was alleviated through humour and the banal through intellect.

Aged in 2-4 year old French oak for 9 months

Deep cherry jube in colour, the 2007 Jester Shiraz continues to show bright, vibrant, rich fruit. A revelation of blue and black berries, there is mocha and a hint of spice on the nose. The palate exhibits focused, genuine fruit and subtle, yet structured, tannins support a velvety elongated finish.

Yarra Valley Marinated Feta

A pasteurized cheese made from the milk of Friesian dairy cows in the well known Yarra wine region of Australia. What sets this feta apart from others is that Yarra Valley Dairy packages their cheese in virgin olive oil. It then marinates with black peppercorns, garlic, and fresh thyme. You can put this out with sliced bread and fruit for an easy and very enjoyable entrée. For further bliss filled moments, pair with Shiraz, Sauvignon Blanc, or a hoppy IPA.

Bread:  Bake the bread frozen in a pre-heated 385 degree oven for 6 minutes.  Let rest for 5 minutes before cutting.
