Local man brings new business concept home to Omaha

Corey Keith, Millard North class of ’96, and his wife Anne Keith along with Shawn Robinson have opened the newest store to join Rockbrook Village at 108th and Center. Corkscrew Wine and Cheese is a wine and specialty cheese retail store with the added benefit of a wine bar.

Corey Keith, upon graduation from college moved to the Washington, DC area where he experienced stores with similar concepts of wine by the glass, daily tastings, specialty cheeses. He thought the idea of a shop combining all of these parts here in Omaha to create “the coffee shop of wine” would add to the social culture of the city.

Corey’s background in technology is an added component to Corkscrew Wine and Cheese. The customer can use the computer kiosks to find more information about a vineyard, wine maker or what flavors are actually in the wine, to ease the stress of the unknown world of wine.

Rockbrook Village was in the midst of a rejuvenation campaign when Corkscrew Wine and Cheese proposed their idea. The concept of a wine retail store with over 20 wines offered by the glass and over 50 specialty cheeses available for sampling easily became a part of Rockbrook Village’s transformation into a lifestyle shopping center.

Shawn Robinson worked for several years at James Arthur Vineyards, in Raymond, NE. Anne Keith is currently an elementary music teacher in Millard Public Schools. More information about Corkscrew Wine and Cheese can be found at www.corkscrewwineandcheese.com or please call 991-2927.
